FAQ

FAQ'S

How can you do this for free? Seems pretty suss to me.

Our aim is to give brands a broader outlook to the music they can use for their campaigns, not just massive songs that have already blown up worldwide but real talented Australian artists that deserve to be heard. We have faith in the applying artists that they will land a campaign, and the cut that we take from the songwriting (50/50), continues to give us the opportunity to help the next artist.

How does syncing work?

A music synchronisation license (sync), is a licence granted by the copyright owner of a  song, allowing the licensee to use the track on some kind of visual media (advertisements, film, television and more).  Brands now want to be known for launching new songs with undiscovered artists.

How long does the co-writing & recording process take?

The songwriting and recording process will take 2-3 days in our Albert Park studio (Melbourne). We start with workshopping and co-writing the track, and then move onto recording, mixing, and mastering.

Can the track be a song I already have a demo of?

You are more than welcome to bring in your own demo and go off of that, the splits will then be negotiated based off of the edited work.

Will I have control of what brand gets the sync?

We won't sync to a brand that conflicts with your core values (for example, vegetarian, religion, gambling etc). On the application form, you'll be able to let us know what you're uncomfortable with.

Can the song be serviced outside of sync?

Absolutely. If we feel the song is more suited elsewhere, we'll make that our focus. If it's got a great chance of being synced, we'll work on that first and hold off on servicing to media, initially.
